sk_live_ keys.
There is no Zernio-style POST /v1/whatsapp/sandbox/sessions, no reply-to-verify activation, and no locked sandbox_start template. Sandbox here means test mode + optional shared pool number + console helpers — not a separate API surface.
Do not confuse this with Meta’s messaging tier (
TIER_250, and so on). That is Meta’s throughput cap on any number, including yours in live mode. See Capabilities and Phone numbers. How LazyApp testing works
To send to many recipients, sync production templates, or run live traffic, connect your own number via Embedded Signup and promote to live mode — see Phone numbers.
Step 1 — Use test mode
- In the console header, switch to Test mode.
- Create an
sk_test_key under Settings → API keys. - Confirm mode isolation in Workspaces and modes.
Step 2 — Get a WhatsApp connection
You need at least one connection in test mode before the API can send.Option A — Claim a LazyApp sandbox number (fastest)
On Connections, click Claim sandbox number. LazyApp assigns one available number from the shared pool and attaches it to your team’s test workspace.
There is no public API for claim or release. Platform customers follow the same console flow inside their workspace.
Option B — Connect your own WABA
Run Embedded Signup while the console is in test mode if you want your own WABA credentials in the test partition. Connecting your own number needs a plan, even in test mode; the claimed sandbox number does not. Most teams claim the pool number first, then connect their real number when promoting to live. List connections (including a claimed sandbox) with capabilities:Step 3 — Add test recipients
On Connections, add one or more test recipients — phones you control that you will message while building. Test recipients are workspace bookmarks. LazyApp does not send a verification template and wait for a WhatsApp reply (unlike Zernio’s session activation). Saving a recipient marks it ready for console send tests and quickstart defaults. There is noPOST /v1/... endpoint for test recipients today.
Step 4 — Send a test message
Use the normal messages API. Pass the samesk_test_ key; LazyApp scopes everything to test mode automatically.
Step 5 — Exercise webhooks
Configure a webhook endpoint with your test key:- Reply from WhatsApp on your test recipient to drive real inbound and status events, or
- Open the console Quickstart page and simulate
delivered, read, orfailedon an outbound message you already sent.
POST /v1/messages — useful when you are debugging payload shape before wiring your app.
See Webhooks and the Quickstart checklist.
Verify OTP in test mode
POST /v1/verify/send and POST /v1/verify/check work in test mode with a fixed development code (default 000000). Automated tests can complete the full verify flow without SMS.
OTP fraud limits still apply — resend delay, per-IP recipient fan-out, and daily caps — see Verify — Test mode and Rate limits.
Promote to live
When the integration behaves correctly in test mode:- Choose a plan in Billing. Your own number needs a plan, and
sk_live_keys need Pro; below Pro a live key gets402plan_limit_reached. See Plans and limits. - Switch the console to Live mode.
- Connect your production WhatsApp number via Embedded Signup (or use an existing live connection).
- Create an
sk_live_key with the scopes you need. - Point webhooks at your production URL (live endpoints are separate from test).
- Swap the API key in your app — no URL or payload changes required.
